World War II Oral History

One of the first documentaries that I produced featured stories of World War II soldiers. How I Survived World War II was nominated for an Emmy and won several Silver Telly awards. The documentary was based on over 120 oral histories collected by WTVI and the Charlotte Rotary Club.

Narrated by Dan Morrill of the University of North Carolina Charlotte, this epic tells the personal stories of American and German soldiers and civilians, and takes you around the world, from Charlotte, NC to Europe, Burma, and the Pacific Theatre.

For those of you interested in conducting research on World War II, here are some links to my favorite sites. The preservation of these stories is powerful. It gives history a new and personal touch.
